    IMPACT.ENGINEERED 2020

    AGENDA

Please continue to check back for agenda updates & more confirmed speakers

    Program Focus

Today, we face a set of challenges, from climate change to COVID-19 to mass migration, that can only be addressed in partnership. These challenges cross borders, and are well beyond the scope of any individual engineer, company, industry, sector, or government. Simultaneously technical and social in nature, these challenges require both high-impact solutions as well as infrastructure and public leadership to drive implementation at scale. This year’s Impact.Engineered (I.E.) event, focused on Partnerships Advancing the Decade of Action, seeks to address the kinds of challenges that demand the practical wisdom of engineers, as well as the power of partnerships to achieve impact. Over two days, a global network committed to creating a cleaner, healthier, safer, and more productive world will learn from each other, seed new ideas, create the connections to bring ideas to life, and recognize the contributions of leading thinkers and doers driving innovation in global development. Hosted by ASME and Engineering for Change (E4C), sponsored by UEF, and brought to life by a range of partners including companies, NGOs, engineering societies, multilaterals, and media sources, I.E. 2020 is a powerful opportunity for our community to come together and develop shared solutions for global development. This will be the first fully online I.E. event. While we will miss the ability to connect in-person, the fully online format creates new opportunities to connect with E4C’s global audience of more than 1,000,000 innovators. Members of our field, from NYC to Nepal, from Silicon Valley to Shanghai, will be able to learn from luminaries, dive deep into case studies of progress toward achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), think critically about the challenges and opportunities that are created by working in crisis situations, reconsider the role of innovation in improving lives, and be inspired by the recipients of the annual Hardware Trailblazer, Women Leading Technology & Impact, Connecting the Unconnected, Industry Driving Social Impact, and Rising Star awards. It has never been more important, or more urgent, to come together to develop solutions for global development. At I.E. 2020, you can be a part of those solutions!
